Metro Homeland Deals 1/30 - 2/5

Metro Homeland deals good until Tuesday close. I have not started posting Rural deals yet.

Coupon lingo: RP stands for Red Plum Coupon Insert and SS stands for Smart Source. Keep a notebook or log of what you pay for items. Then you'll recognize a sale. I posted most of the deals so you can work on your stock pile. If you get confused, just post your question. I am working on a "How to Coupon" post but it's not ready yet. I usually do not post coupons that need printed because most people do not have a printer (mine is out right now).
Remember Homeland doubles first like coupon.

Don't forget your Homeland Card! You earn cheaper gas when you use your card.
Also Sign up for a free SavingStar account. It works with your Homeland and CVS card.

CVS Tresemme Possible Money Maker 1/29 *updated*

*UPDATE*
A couple of sites have stated that the B1G1 coupon is only taking $3.50 off which is fine. So here is the update deal.

Tresemme 2/$7.00
$2.00 off any two(2) Tresemme products
B1G1 Free RP 1/27
75¢ Ibotta, if included in sale  (Sign up for free here
Possible total after Ibotta refund: 75¢ for 2

Tresemme is a mm this week if you received the $2 off two Tresemme haircare products from the magic machine and stack it with the B1G1 Free from RP 1/27.

For my new couponers, this is how it works and explained in English.

Tresemme shampoo and conditioner is 2/$7.00.
The magic machine is the big red box in CVS, that you scan your card on "daily" to receive coupons. It was printing (and may still print) $2 off two Tresemme haircare products. Since it does not specify, it can be for any Tresemme item. But to get the best deal, you always match up with what is on sale. Then Buy 1 Get 1 free is taking off $6, plus you stack (included) the $2 off is makes it a $1 money maker!
HOWEVER, at CVS, they will not give you money back so make sure you purchase something else to use your extra dollar on (the overage).
If I have just totally confused you, I'm very good at that...just ask my kids.
Leave me a message and I will answer any questions. ;)

Oh boy said WHAT?

Kids say the funniest and craziest things. Sometimes it's just their expressions that make it so funny. I want to remember some of these things so I will post them for all to read. (Remember, I'm posting all my stuff here so I won't forget, at least until I start my pinterest idea collection). To protect my children's identity (and rep) I decided to number each child.

Child #2
(Saturday morning around 10:15)
"Mom I didn't pee this morning.
When did you go pee then?
I haven't... I haven't needed to. My pee knew it was Saturday and it shouldn't be up yet so I haven't needed to pee........"

Child #4
(Child #2 walks in kitchen with hair parted to straighten it and has 4 different sections wrapped in buns)
"You look like a WHO!"
(The facial expression almost killed me and I cried for several minutes from laughing so hard)

Child #5
(Sitting on bed opening his candy, #2 walks by and steals it, Face turned quickly)
"And sissy is just a butt head"

Stay tuned for more!

French Toast Sticks

My kids love Sonic breakfast items, especially the french toast sticks. But getting 4 kids ready for school, all going different locations, there is NO time to stop at Sonic along the way. Because I can not let my little man down, I googled them this morning and found this recipe. Oh my jeeze! Look at Sonic, mama is here. And yes they were "kid approved".

French Toast Sticks
(I made a third this morning, ok, I Rachel Ray'd it this morning but it was 1/3)

Ingredients:
  • 1 loaf white or whole-wheat bread (2 slices of bread)
  • 3 eggs (1 egg)
  • 1 cup milk (1/3 cup)
  • 1/2 cup flour (1/8 cup)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (dash)
  • Dash salt
  • Pint Grade A Medium Amber Maple Syrup
Preparation Spray a skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Cut each slice of bread into 1-inch sticks. Whisk together eggs, milk, flour, vanilla and salt. Dip bread sticks into batter and fry in a skillet until golden brown. Warm syrup in a small bowl. Serve together so the sticks can be dipped in the syrup. Serves 4. Free kindle books

I love the free kindle books from Amazon. I do not have a kindle, however, you can download a kindle reader to your smart phone and computer so you don't miss out on the deals. I have a kindle reader on my phone so when we're on the go, my 3rd grader can do his nightly reading wherever we maybe.

I'm still working on my resolutions just not as often as I would like. Since one of them is to get organized, I really wanted to read this book Home Organization For Stress Free Living: How To Organize Your Home One Day At A Time And Keep It That Way

Um YES PLEASE! Wonder if it comes with a maid? ;)

There is also  The Stress Free You: How to Live Stress Free and Feel Great Everyday, Starting Today  to help with another one of my resolutions.

Now the great thing about Amazon is you can find some really great deals. The down side, is you never know how long they will last. So hurry over to get this deal so you can sit back and relax with a "free" good book. At least until the kids get up, oh wait, if you read my last post, you already know that I'm too late for that. Maybe tomorrow....

Only my kids?

Well there is no school today. Which in a normal house, everyone would still be fast asleep because we do not have any where to be, no animals to attend to, and no shopping to get done...yet.

So WHY do the kids get up at the butt crack of dawn? Now when I say kids, I mean under the age of 13 because I know for a fact the teenager will not see the light of day until at least 2.

Now you are probably thinking, what is the big deal if they get up so early. The reason is if this would have been a normal school day...I would still be fighting kids to get up. Go figure...

Does this happen at your house or am I the only lucky mom?
